As I talk to collectors and see and hear about all the problems they have with their new or old boards, I am seeing the source of the problems much clearer. Most of the boards problems come from the manufacturer, they always have. But as the skateboard industry keep's making and selling collected boards, don't you think it's about time they started selling them in a long term stable condition as an option? And stop selling them side by side the same way as boards just for skating?
I have seen too many times new collected boards getting sold for a lot more money after they get sold out. Sometime for hundreds of dollars more, and later the same board can't get sold. In my view, this is what has been hurting the global market place and frustrating collectors around the world. Buyers and sellers alike. It's time for some real innovation and change for collectors, don't you think?
V.E.S. does and we are trying to push for change to make investing in skateboards worth it again!
Are we alone in thinking things could be done better "by now" for us that love collecting skateboards?
We have reached out to most of the skateboard companies offering our help over the past couple years and we have documented it all as a business, but they have never responded to us not even just to ask what we have figured out to try and help the market grow.
I have talked to some in the know about this and they say they have no need or need help keeping their corporate product , past and present in ok condition. They say they are just fine. And this is the point I am trying to make. The rest of us that want better for are collected boards are not ok with it.
That is if you care about this sport and don't just see it as a fad....
