Is a new board hanger possible? Or will the industry say no?

V.E.S. is innovating the skateboard hanger to do more than just display your board.

Our hanger's will also help preserve your skateboard investment!!

But will the skateboard hanger industry say no ?

What the market offers

How most boards are hung for display

How most boards are hung for display

How most boards are hung for display

This picture is from Jenkem Magazine, I'm sure most collectors have seen this by now, and it's used to show how skateboard collectors tend to display their skateboard artwork. What I see here, I see everywhere. Yes it looks good but if you think about it, the way they are hung, what stops them from warping in slow motion and cracking the paint as the boards wood dries over time? Not the two machine screws it's held on by! Now look at the ones in a self contained picture frame, are the boards protected from problems? And can the rest of us, the 90% collectors in the world ever afford to have this setup to preserve our skateboards?

Probably not in today's high priced world.

This picture only used to show how some that can will hag there skateboard collections,

ONLY AN EXAMPLE !!

Should boards be stacked and how?

How most boards are hung for display

We are looking for the best way.

More to come.

If you have an idea on the best way to stack boards let me know and if it's better than what other people are saying or what I have researched and found out I will post it here and give you credit.

Most hangers are only for display

How most boards are hung for display

Most hangers are only for display

If you search the internet you will see this, all kinds of ways to display your boards. There is no shortage to choose from and no innovation here, just the same stuff that's always been, and they seem to be copied from one or another in some small way. And none of these hangers address the problems for boards  as they start to age and dry out or twist.

If you are a skateboard collector/investor, and you are looking for something to hang your long term investment on so you don't loose the value in the future, we are working on that !

This picture only used to show what most of the market has for skateboard hangers,

ONLY AN EXAMPLE !!

How I headed in this direction

How I headed in this direction

Most hangers are only for display

Before I get started explaining, let's step back some to the beginning of V.E.S. So if you go to the about me section on my website you will understand why I took it upon myself to even try and do what I'm doing to skateboards. I just saw too many problems as a skateboard collector, and I wanted better answers on how to preserve them in a better way and longer.

And I was tired of having to join Facebook or some club to get the info that wasn't there for me to begin with.

SO I STOPPED LOOKING!!!

And V.E.S. was born.

About me

The problems

How I headed in this direction

What we are trying to change

YES YES, boards have problems, they always have, but not even the companies that build them are really innovating in this area for us collectors, and they have all the control of their product and how it's made and shipped.

This is how the problem started or lack of solutions years ago. As we all know, skateboard manufacturers are out to make money, and lots of it. They have no reason or incentive to change their direction to help the growing market of skateboard collectors other than to make a billion copies of the same graphic. And the way I see it they will not change this direction from the inside, they need a little push from the outside.

Again as they promote their sales of collectable boards to the world, why are they still selling them the same way as skated boards? The industry has a great opportunity to give the skateboard market a new boost longer into the future and make even more money if they could get out of the "FAD MARKET BOX" and really turn the other side of this into a market for hobbyist.

Just think about how many more people across the spectrum would buy there product !!!

What we are trying to change

How I headed in this direction

What we are trying to change

We are trying to change the way skateboards are displayed and sold for the better. And we have found one way but not like you may think. We need a vintage skateboard company to step up and partner with us to help solve our hanger problem, and this is why. Could I just put my hanger product on the market to be cheaply copied by this product industry and others - YES - but that's the problem, and that's why I'm waiting. I believe it should be used right from the factory at the time the boards are sent from the manufacturer to the new owner. This will help put your board in a stable collecting condition right off the bat when its pulled from the stack of boards. And if my products get copied by the after market industry, this problem won't be solved for new collected boards going forward. Now you may say, who cares? I would say the investors that can see the value in what they have or can see the value in something they want to buy.  V.E.S. has developed a new quality hanger with a purpose and goal, to help preserve your skateboard and its artwork better, no matter if it's in storage or hung up for display. And the first company to sign me up as the first Skateboard - Pro Refurbisher and adds me to the team, can have it.

My body of work here on my website should be proof enough of my skateboard skills and what I'm trying to accomplish.

Change is possible, but only if they care to change!!

As I talk to collectors and see and hear about all the problems they have with their new or old boards, I am seeing the source of the problems much clearer. Most of the boards problems come from the manufacturer, they always have. But as the skateboard industry keep's making and selling collected boards, don't you think it's about time they started selling them in a long term stable condition as an option? And stop selling them side by side the same way as boards just for skating?

I have seen too many times new collected boards getting sold for a lot more money after they get sold out. Sometime for hundreds of dollars more, and later the same board can't get sold. In my view, this is what has been hurting the global market place and frustrating collectors around the world. Buyers and sellers alike. It's time for some real innovation and change for collectors, don't you think?

V.E.S. does and we are trying to push for change to make investing in skateboards worth it again!

Are we alone in thinking things could be done better "by now" for us that love collecting skateboards?

We have reached out to most of the skateboard companies offering our help over the past couple years and we have documented it all as a business, but they have never responded to us not even just to ask what we have figured out to try and help the market grow.

I have talked to some in the know about this and they say they have no need or need help keeping their corporate product , past and present in ok condition. They say they are just fine. And this is the point I am trying to make. The rest of us that want better for are collected boards are not ok with it.

That is if you care about this sport and don't just see it as a fad....

The first person that comes to mind that could help

This message was sent July 29, 2023 and still no reply

I sent this message to Paul Schmitt because he still makes skateboards. He is also well known for his way of innovation in the skateboard product world. But if you go to Youtube and listen to him talk about how to take care of boards long term, even he doesn't have the time to solve this problem or stray from all he knows. But still I go to him first, because only people that care about our skateboard's future, can help solve this problem for all of us going forward.

We are a skateboard collector that wants to change the direction of collected skateboards, past and present for the better, for all of us. We are not in any competition with any skateboard company or shop with the latest and greatest new product, we are just fixing and preserving what was sold to us. V.E.S. has mad respect for the skateboard world, we just think it needs a little help, because when more people around the world  want more real vintage skateboard history, we want to make sure we have enough to go around in the future, that look good..

I still have not heard a reply, Dec 21, 2023

In today's skateboard world climate that is constantly being controlled for profit and fad, isn't it refreshing to see a collector like V.E.S. fight for our skateboard's history that we all share?

Maybe it's about time for a skateboard collector's Ambassador !!!
