Why, Vintage Evolution Skateboards left YouTube

We showed a better way

Well I left YouTube after years of doing videos. I was putting sometimes 5 videos out a day. Some were long but most were 3 min in length as a short. Not easy getting it all in in 3 min but those got seen more and by more people.  But it seemed I was not getting noticed like all the other channels that only talked about and showed skateboards. Those seem to get all the likes. But my videos weren't about "like" they were about solutions to the problems we collectors and investers have with our boards going into the future and now. The old and new.

Doing what I do to save skateboards cut across the grain for most. What I was doing was not accepted by the statusquo that has always been. The long standing rule of don't touch or you will loose value. Maybe, if done wrong like so many have in the past till now. But V.E.S. is different. We care about the collectors market going into the future. And we see so many great boards of histrory just drying and cracking apart with no help from the skateboard industry or any change from collectors. Some one had to do better!!!

We did what the industry won't

I was also showing videos  that the skateboard industry is doing things all wrong for the collectors market. Maybe good for there quick buck$$$ but not for the long term market. My videos told the facts about what I have been seeing for so long. And that's why I thought it was important to get people to understand why turning this into a real hobby with the help of the skateboard industry would help us all around the world. And my videos had backing from my business and years of my work as proof.

I was pointing out that the skateboard industry only moves forwars in thought. And they never looked back at us forgoton skaters of time. They can't even change there shrink-wrap to do better, but I figured it out.

The industry also has anouther problem they are creating, no long term stability for the market we skaters made. The only value for a board sold by all of them is a collectable  board you have to wait sometime a year for. They all do it now!!!

So as you keep reading this I hope you get a better understanding as to why I left YouTube.

Just a few reasons

The 2nd V.E.S. shop

This is a picture of my 2nd shop where I did a lot of my YouTube videos.  I wanted to show what was possible if you wanted more out of skateboards collecting or investing. But I had to show the truth about our skateboard flaws. Those from the industry and those we collectors have been doing for so long. And boy did I get some pushback from those that will never change.

Trying to rech the pro-s

And for years I tryed to show that the boards the pro-s had when they were in the game are the boards to have. And I tryed to show that if they don't last, nor will the value of real skateboards history into the future for us collectors and in the end the pro-s. And for years and years I did video after video asking for help from anyone in the industry. And till this day nothing, like it doesnt matter to them. Why would it, they can make a new copy over and over like printed cash$$$

Vintage Evolution Skateboards

Is this all we can do?

And as I was trying on my videos to show more information of skateboard problems and what can be done. I was trying to show we can do better than 99% of all the videos on YouTube that only talk and show a board. I wanted to do videos that push the envolope of the statusquo of what our skateboards history has turned into thanks to the skateboard industry

"FAD FAD FAD"

This is the real reason why  skateboards history is dead going forward. The next thing is better, but is it? And for who?

At the end of the day only the industry will win and control our market!

New pro-decks are worthless

My videos also tryed to address the reality for today's skateboard collectors. The ones with shared timeline history with 2day's pro-s. We collectors of the past hold up there history up  into the future. But as I tryed to say in my videos, if the new graphic product doent last like the old boards do, they will have no shared timeline product to hold up down the road. And not just that, but if the collectors market get's use to this cheap copied product , the industry will keep copying  any value in your investment you have in your board over and over again with newer cheaper product. This is the end of skaters cotroling the collectors market. And the beginning of the skateboard industry making only one for them to control.

And as I pointed this out, boy did I get push back from those skaters all ready lost!!!

Vintage Evolution Skateboards

Something big is missing!

My videos also went after every skateboard brand holding up it's past  I didnt hold back. If they said it was like the old boards I said what I saw. I compared the new with the old right in front of you. I also in my videos tryed to show how each one of these company's are manipulating our market for there gain and control. They all sell you now a brand new collectable board over and over to the point the market is flooded with non skated over price boards. And the only board of value is the new one they just made, again and again killing the value in a board you just bought. There is no history being sold to you today. Just a mirror image of there past in a new way and color.

And the quality of this product is a false unrealistic copy that can't even match what they once made. So many disageed with me in my assessment in this view, but I was again comparing them right in front of you. I had nothing to hide and only real skateboards history to save. And as I pointed these inperfections out, I was black listed by the industry. They still will not hear my views nor will they acknledge them. It's like V.E.S. never existed..

No more real skateboard culture.....

And as I was doing my videos my way to help wake up the skateboard culture we have. I had great conversations with like minded collectors that we have no help from the industry.

"The Forgotten Skaters"

Get no help.

I also  tryed to show more can be done by turning this into a real hobby. One that would help us forgotten skaters. Help the industry save it's shared product history we have on our walls and in bags. And help make the pro-s we like last with value not just a fast over made product with no end. A real collectos market we all can be apart of.

And a culture made right to last. To the industry they only see money going forward, but skateboard culture if done right can't be copied. So as we see it happening now, and as it's sold, we only have copy from them. I offerd the industry a better way, but if V.E.S. doent exist to them that better way is never going to happen.

So I left YouTube, no one really  want's better for our culture and all my videos did was show how alone our view of this on going problem is. Today's collectors just want a copy and talk.

And that's not me, nor is that what I want to compete with on the YouTube platform.

I hope you liked my videos on Youtube when they were on. But i'm done trying to convince the sheep led by the "WOLF"

V.E.S. Final words

Is this it ?

Well I will finish up here but I hope you get my point of view. I was trying to show in my YouTube videos, that there is so much more we can do as colletors, investers and skaters with our boards. Most videos you will see are the same just told by someone new that just got the bug of a collector. But that's all they do, is talk the same  with no real help for us investing in great skateboards history.

And I was hoping maybe someone in the industry would take a chance and call V.E.S. But no!!

And as I researched the internet for anything new for us for years, the only thing I saw was the industry holding itself up on the wall. But non of that helps us out here in the real world.

We are the fogoton skaters

I just don't fit in 2day

It seem's I don't fit in today for most. And when some call they just want my hard work for free so they can do what I do. But the problem with giving that away for free is  if you don't understand the problem how can you fix it right. So many of my videos tryed to make that point. Many said I have no clue, but what have they done? Have they been a skater for 45 years? Did they sell skateboards from a shop in the 80's? Did they start a business and prove to the world more can be done if you just care? Did they have millions of conversation for years with collectors and investers of skateboards? No they havn't!!!

No one has, till V.E.S.  showed up.

So if my videos don't get understood i'm done wasting my time and my efforts are better used some other way.

So in the end that's why I left YouTube

My collection of V.E.S. videos is "Huge" !!
